Harbour Dining

Diana and I picked out this Thibaut Resort fabric before it was even available. It was love at first sight. Now it's on order and we are dying for it to arrive.

West Hill 2

The master bedroom is one of my favorite rooms in this house. It's calming and elegant- and mostly neutral. There are a few pops of blue and yellow-but nothing too crazy!

I'm working on framing this fabric to hang on the left wall (not pictured). We saved a lot of money using scrap fabric and I think its really cute!

We initially picked these pillows and are still trying to complete this space. They have a sectional from their old house that we are using in this room.

West Hill

The last few months I have also been working on a large house here in Decatur.  Sweet, sweet couple with kids the same age as mine-so I know I will be seeing a lot of them even after my designs are completed. Its a large house-five bedrooms and five bathrooms and it is beautiful! I wish I had been posting updates as we install things here and there but I honestly have just been too busy designing.  Add two munchkins to the mix and there just isn't enough time to blog about everything-but I will try to be better. Also, you can follow me in Instagram-I post photos there regularly.

So let's start with the breakfast room. It is almost complete-we are waiting for hardware and drapes.

Next, the playroom-one of my favorites.  To save money we used the client's old living room sofa and painted an old coffee table blue. I think it turned out really fun.

You can do it! Organize your Halloween decorations!

If you're like me, you've waited until today to take down your Halloween decorations. It is always so fun putting them up but taking them down is a different story. But, you can make it a little easier. I am a BIG fan of organized spaces. I love to organize our refrigerator, our pantry and when I'm stressed out I'll tackle random drawers and closets. Organizing always makes me feel so much better! I should probably make it a side job. Anyway, if you have a dedicated space where you store all of your holiday decorations-take today to organize them. By that I mean color code the boxes- put Halloween decor in these:

And while you are out go ahead and buy red and green ones so after Christmas you can keep the organization going-and don't worry, Target already has them!

Another easy fix is buying a few of these wire shelves from Target (only $12) and sticking them on blank walls in any  closets you may have.

Hanging your costumes in one of these would be awesome-You would't have to worry about wrinkles etc- And access would be much easier in case you feel the urge to pull out your monster costume another time of the year.

Framed Fabric

Like I have said in my previous posts, I love to decorate and I love the challenge of doing so on a budget.  There are times when I think you have to splurge- on a nice sofa or durable hardware-etc. On any given Tuesday you can find me at one of Atlanta's Homegoods stores. There are six I can get to if I have an entire day. The employees at all of these stores know me-which is funny-but I am not embarrassed that I like to save money. I like to hit up discount stores, flea markets, you name it.  Earlier this week I went to the clearance section of one of my favorite fabric stores and died when I found 6 yards of this John Robshaw fabric for close to $30.

We have already made drapery for a nursery out of this fabric and we paid a lot more than $30. So I was super excited! What are we using it for now? Well, above the dresser in this room is a large blank space. I have been racking my brain trying to think of an inexpensive way to fill that space. I also need to note we had a custom elephant made from the talented Ridley Stallings to go over the crib-so I really didn't want to steal the spotlight from it. So, when I found this fabric I was ecstatic and knew what to do. We will frame it! There are so many ways to go about this and it really is a money saver. Especially if there is a fabric you just love but it doesn't fit in your budget- just order one yard of it and frame it for a unique piece of art.
